Baraka African Black Soap is a traditional saponified product. Component INCI list, identical across all named variants: BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER, ELAEIS GUINEENSIS KERNEL OIL, AQUA, ELAEIS GUINEENSIS OIL, MEL, CURCUMA LONGA POWDER, THEOBROMA CACAO POWDER, MORINGA OLEIFERA POWDER, AZADIRACHTA INDICA POWDER, HIBISCUS SABDARIFFA POWDER, ADANSONIA DIGITATA POWDER, CYMBOPOGON CITRATUS POWDER, ALOE BARBADENSIS. Saponification uses traditional potash derived from cocoa pod ash — a natural lye that is fully consumed in the saponification reaction and is not present in the finished product. Final product pH is approximately 9.5–10.5 with approximately 12% water content. A signed formulation declaration and full manufacturing process documentation are available to qualified buyers on request.

Certificates of Analysis

Certificates of Analysis are issued per production batch and change with every lot. All Baraka Certificates of Analysis are issued by the Ghana Standards Authority — an ISO-accredited testing laboratory — per production batch, for every product we make. Rather than posting certificates that go out of date, we provide the current COA for your specific order on request — so what you receive always matches what you're buying. Email support@barakasheabutter.com.

Allergen and purity information

Our ingredients are single-ingredient products with nothing added and nothing taken away. Products are tested at an ISO-certified facility; detailed allergen and purity data is available on request alongside the Certificate of Analysis.

Certifications & compliance

All Baraka products are Community Certified Fair Trade. This is our formal certification, verified by the producers themselves: the women's cooperatives that make our products meet annually to review their relationship with Baraka and vote on whether we may continue using the Community Certified Fair Trade mark. Fair treatment includes fair pricing, safe working conditions, and support for community priorities identified by the women's groups. Our products are produced without pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, or solvents, processed in organically certifiable facilities, and tested at an ISO-certified facility — test results available on request. Palm products are RSPO certified. All products carry full FDA registrations, and a full EU documentation set — including signed formulation declarations, complete INCI documentation, and safety data sheets — is available for brands marketing into the European Union. Production follows Good Manufacturing Practice principles consistent with ISO 22716:2007 guidelines. Baraka holds a formal GMP Declaration of Conformity, and full batch traceability is maintained from raw material sourcing through to finished product.

Social & Environmental Impact documentation

Few ingredient suppliers can document their social and environmental impact. Baraka publishes a full annual Social & Environmental Impact Report — complete ESG documentation covering the women's cooperatives that make our products, incomes and community investment, and our environmental practices. If your brand reports on supply chain ESG, our documentation plugs directly into yours. Read the current report.

Ordering for business buyers

Flexible minimum order quantities and tiered pricing are available on request. Less-than-pallet and pallet orders ship from our North American warehouse with 48-hour dispatch; full containers ship directly from Ghana. All customs documentation, brokerage, and border clearance is handled by Baraka for US and Canadian buyers — your order arrives like a domestic delivery. We also supply bulk and wholesale clients worldwide: containers ship from Ghana to any major port with export documentation handled by our team, and EU buyers are supported with a full EU documentation set.

Quality control

Every woman who makes Baraka products is registered and completes quality control training before she begins. Production follows a documented quality control system based on traditional practices with modern checkpoints, reviewed annually by a shea butter expert as part of our certification process.
