Designed specifically for the tender skin challenges of new motherhood, this kit helps you craft a 100% natural balm for soothing sore or cracked nipples during breastfeeding, supporting perineal healing after birth, and caring for C-section scars once fully closed. You've got the kit — here's everything you need

Ingredients

Shea Butter
Concentrated healing base
Shea Oil
Lightweight, softens the balm for easy application

You'll also need from home

Double boiler
To gently warm and soften the shea butter
Spoon or spatula
For stirring until smooth
Clean Glass Jar
To store your finished balm

Directions

Step One:
Warm (5 min) — gently warm the shea butter in a heat-safe bowl over a double boiler until just softened — no need to fully melt.
Step Two:
Stir (2–3 min) — remove from heat and stir in the shea oil until smooth and fully combined, following the recipe card included with your kit.
Step Three:
Cool (5–10 min) — spoon into a clean glass jar and let cool until set. No whipping required — your balm is ready in about 15 minutes. Keep it free of essential oils and fragrance for breastfeeding use.

Pro Tips:

Before you start
  • Gently cleanse the area before nursing — the balm is safe for breastfeeding, and baby comes first
  • A little goes a long way — apply a thin layer to clean skin and let it absorb
  • For C-section scars, wait until the incision is fully closed — check with your healthcare provider if unsure

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to use while breastfeeding?
Yes — the balm is made from just two pure, unrefined shea ingredients with nothing added, and it's designed to be safe for use while breastfeeding. Simply cleanse the area gently before nursing. Keep the balm free of essential oils and fragrances, and as with any new product, do a patch test first.
Can I use it on my C-section scar?
Yes — once the incision is fully closed and your healthcare provider is happy with your healing. The concentrated shea balm is well suited to daily scar care and general postpartum skin repair. If you have any concerns about your recovery, check with your provider first.
How long does the finished balm last?
Your finished balm will keep for 6 to 12 months when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The raw ingredients keep for 2+ years when stored properly. Because the balm contains no water, no preservative is needed — and using a clean, dry finger or spatula each time helps extend its life.
Am I a beginner — can I do this?
Absolutely — this is the fastest kit in our range. Just warm, stir, and cool: about 15 minutes of active time with no whipping and no special equipment. The detailed recipe card included with every kit walks you through each step.
What size kit should I buy?
Kits come in sizes from 50g to 2kg of each ingredient. A little balm goes a long way on tender skin, so the 50g or 100g sizes comfortably cover the postpartum months — and make a thoughtful baby shower gift. Larger sizes suit whole-body recovery care or making batches to share.
Does this support women in Ghana?
Yes, directly. Both ingredients in your kit are hand-processed by women like Kutun Abu of the Konjahie community, part of the Konjeihi Women's Enterprise Centre in Ghana's Upper West Region. Every purchase supports fair wages, children's education, and community infrastructure through a direct fair-trade relationship — no middlemen taking a cut.
